Happy Howlidays

Hello,

Are you ready for a new Paper Players challenge? It's Sunday and LeAnne is our hostess this week with one of my favorite type of challenges. We're playing Tic-Tac-Toe this week with an emphasis on winter and/or holiday cards. Here are the options.

For my card I chose the right side of the grid, Snowflakes, Patterned Paper, Ribbon and made a Christmas card with a new Lawn Fawn Christmas stamp set.

This set is called Happy Howlidays and it features the gang of Dachshunds all dressed up for the holidays. The patterned paper is Lawn Fawn You Warm My Heart Holiday patterned papers. The images are stamped with Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics then cut out using the corresponding Lawn Cut dies. The snowy hills are Die-namics Stitched Hill dies.

The inside features Santa Paws and a few presents for his friends.

You will find more inspiration when you visit the rest of the DT's blogs here.

A Bold "Boo"

Hello again,

It's very late Sunday evening and I've finished up packing for my work trip tomorrow morning. I had a little time just before dinner and decided to make one more card using Linda's sketch for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I got this new Die-namics cover plate last month and have only used it once so far. I thought I'd see how it looks with some very bold and bright Halloween colors.

It's very rare for me to make a card with no stamping, but here you go.

The die was cut three times, once each in SU Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie and Purple card stocks. After popping out all of the pieces, the black frame was glued to a Pumpkin Pie card base, then I randomly glued pieces from all three colors back in. Using the Die-namics Pierced Fishtail Flags dies, I cut two from a pice of Doodlebug Halloween Parade patterned paper. The focal images are Die-namics Pinking circle and Stitched Pumpkin dies. The "Boo" is from Recollections and I added a few orange sequin for additional embellishment.

I'm off to bed so I can get up very early to make my flight to Portland. Have a great week everyone and thanks for stopping in.

Supplies
Dies: Die-namics Split Chevron Cover Up, Pierced Fishtail Flags Stax, Pinking Circle, Stitched Pumpkin dies
Embellishments: Recollections glitter Boo and sequin

A Bushel and a Peck

Hello,

Welcome to this week's Paper Players post. Jaydee is our hostess with an awesome sketch challenge. I know you're going to love it and I know we're going to see some creative cards in our gallery this week.

How about some Lawn Fawn cuteness! I decided I wasn't ready to give up on making Fall themed cards quite yet, so I pulled out Lawn Fawn's Thanks A Bushel set to make a thank you card using this week's sketch.

As you can see, I stayed pretty true to Jaydee's sketch for my layout. The card base is from a pack of already cut and scored cards that are wood grain embossed. (The already cut and scored part is why my card has a side fold instead of the usual top fold.)

The image is stamped with Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics. The zig-zag circle die is Die-namics and the large banner and the small sentiment banner are Lawn Fawn dies.

The inside images are all from the same set.

You can visit the rest of the Paper Player's here. Super cuteness awaits for you!

A Jolly Hello

Happy Saturday stampers,

I had a very busy and somewhat stressful work week and I for one am so happy it's the weekend! After doing some morning chores, I decided it was time to relax and do some stamping. Looking through my favorite sketch challenges I noticed that Linda has a fun one over at Freshly Made Sketches this week. Using her sketch and this week's colors from Color Throwdown, I came up with this Holiday card. In addition to these challenges, Merry Monday's challenge this week is to use plaid.

Rudolf and his friend Comet are stamped in Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics. I used a scrap of water color paper and brushed water and a Zig Marker in Turquoise Green over it to make the panel, then when it was dry I cut out the trees. For the bottom sketch element, I used a piece of Lawn Fawn Winter plaid paper and rounded the corners. These elements are layered onto a piece of SU Pool Party paper embossed with the TE Falling Snow EF. The card base is also SU Pool Party.

The inside of the card uses images from the same set, but the greeting is from MFT Jingle All the Way set.

I'll see you back here tomorrow for another fun Paper Players challenge. You'll love it!

Thanks for looking in today,
Colleen

Falling For You

Hello all,

It's the middle Sunday of October and time for another Paper Players Challenge. Nance is our hostess this week with another fun challenge, fitting for the season.

This is a Clean and Simple challenge and I just know we are going to see some awesome cards in our gallery. I can't wait!

My card was inspired by something I saw recently while looking through quilting pictures on Pinterest. Check out this awesome little fall, felt mug rug.

Here's how I turned it into a card for today's challenge:

The leaf and acorn dies, as well as the sentiment stamp are from Taylored Expressions "Falling For You" stamp and die sets. I cut each of the leaves from two different Lawn Fawn Fall plaid patterned papers. I cut three acorns from the same papers and placed them around the Die-namics Wonky Stitched circle. This is the largest circle in the die set. After I was satisfied with the placement, I removed them all so I could stamp the sentiment in the center. I repositioned the leaves and acorns and glued them down. The acorns are popped up with Dimensionals. The card base is the Spellbinders Large Scalloped Circle die cut from SU Bermuda Bay. I tied some tiny bows with SU linen thread and glued them to the leaf clusters for embellishment. It's one of those cards that took hardly any time to do and looks pretty cool (if I do say so myself, LOL).

My photo of the inside isn't very good, but I'll share anyway. The tree and bird are stamps from the same TE set and both are stamped on Lawn Fawn Plaid paper and fussy cut.

Spooky and Sweet

Happy Sunday friends,

It's time for another fun Paper Players Challenge. It's Sandy's turn to be our hostess this week and she has a color challenge fitting for the season.

Of course, there are many options with this color combo, but I chose the obvious and made this Halloween card using an older Taylored Expressions set.

This is Moka Tabitha all colored up in the challenge colors using Copics. After coloring the image, I cut it out using a TE die. The other dies are all Die-namics.

The inside image is from another TE set called Fa-BOO-lous! The inside greeting is from the Moka Tabitha set.

Be sure to stop by the rest of the DT's blogs to see their cards this week.

Coffee & Friends Warm the Heart

Hi friends,

Today's card uses the current Sunday Stamps Challenge sketch for inspiration and the Fall Coffee Lover's Blog Hop (which is actually over with.)

I'm not sure I have ever put Poppy Parade and Pool Party together before, but they look pretty great together. Bright that's for sure.

The background panel is a new-ish Die-namics die, but instead of popping out the pieces, I left them in for an embossed look. The banners and paper piecing on the cup are patterned papers from Pebbles Woodland Forrest pack.

Here's the inside:

Hope you're having a great day. Thanks for checking in,
Colleen

Christmas Cheer

Hello and Happy Monday Morning,

I was feeling better by yesterday afternoon, yay, and feeling much more creative, I did some stamping. I made a couple more Halloween cards and this Christmas card using the current Freshly Made Sketch #256.

I started by stamping the deer from the new Avery Elle set called Kitch Christmas and coloring them with Copics then cutting them out with their corresponding dies. Next I cut the banner and sponged it with Distress Tumbled Glass ink. I cut a second banner and cut the bottom using the Die-namics Stitched Hill dies along the bottom to create a snowy hill. I ran both though the TE Falling Snow EF for the snowy effect. The sentiment was stamped in the upper corner of the sponged banner using SU Real Red ink. I layered them together using foam tape then glued them to the card base which is covered with Lawn Fawn Christmas Plaid patterned paper. After gluing the deer in place, I added the red Baker's twine. I also used a TE White Ice Pearl Pen to add dimension to the falling snow dots.

Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping in,
Colleen

Batty For You

Hello and welcome to a new Paper Player's Challenge. Our first one for October! This week, the very talented Claire is our hostess with a seasonal theme challenge.

Perfect for finishing up your Halloween cards for friends and family. I know well see some spooky and cute cards in our gallery this week.

Since I was traveling for work most of last week, I didn't have a chance to sit down and make my card until yesterday. Unfortunately for me, I seemed to have picked up a "bug" in my travels and with a pounding head and upset stomach, my creativity was running at about 5% of normal, so I needed to find a quick and simple sketch. This week's CAS(E) this Sketch came to my rescue.

Using some older Reverse Confetti sets, I put together this pretty simple card. The card base is SU Basic Gray. I cut the top panel of Very Vanilla with the largest MFT Wonky Stitched die and stamped the bottom line of bats. I cut a Very Vanilla banner using a MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags die and stamped the same bats on it, then I cut another banner from Basic Gray for layering. Using the Mini Misti for placement, I stamped the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink. After putting the card together, I thought it needed a little more embellishment, so I added the large bat in the upper right corner and the two black pearls in the lower right corner.

The inside is super simple as well.
