Zombie Birthday

Hello stampers,

I hope that your week has started out well.

I'm sharing a birthday card that I made for my good friend, Vicki. Her favorite holiday is Halloween and her birthday is Oct. 2, so I decided to make a Halloween themed birthday card for her this year.

The sketch is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch no. 238. The stamps are from SugarPea Designs.

After stamping this fashion-ista zombie with Memento tuxedo black ink, I colored her with Copics and fussy cut the image. The sentiment is stamped with SU Rich Razzleberry ink and cut out with the Die-namics Pierced Fishtail Flags die. Sparkle is added with some SU rhinestones and some Pebbles large sequins.

Supplies
Stamps: Undying Love set by SugarPea Designs
Paper: SU black, Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green and Very Vanilla card stocks; XPress-It Blending card stock; American Crafts Pumpink Patch and Pebbles Tricks and Treets patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Rich Razzleberry and Copics
Other Supplies: Die-namics Pinking Edge circles, Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX and Jumbo Fishtail Banner dies, Classic Circle Nesties, SU rhinestones, Pebbles sequins, the Big Shot, and SU dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen

Mingle All the Way

Hello stamping friends,

My card today adds to my 2014 Christmas card stash. Yay! I've used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch # 235 for my layout.

While looking through my new SU holiday catalog products, I decided on these Smoky Slate papers and the coordinating embossing folder. To brighten things up, I added the Real Red ink and card stock. After stamping the sentiment in Real Red, I then stamped it again in Smoky Slate, but just slightly off-set. It gives a shadow effect.

Supplies
Stamps: Mingle All the Way set by Stampin' Up
Papers: SU Smoky Slate, Real Red and Whisper White card stocks and SU All Is Calm DSP
Ink: SU Real Red and Smoky Slate pads
Other: SU On Point embossing folder, classic circle Nestie, Die-namics Pinking Edge and Jumbo Fishtail Flags STAX dies, SU corner punch, SU Frosted Sequins, the Big Shot, dimensionals

Thanks for checking in,
Colleen

You Are Pawesome!

Hi all,

It continues to be quite warm and humid here. I usually go out for a long walk on weekend mornings, but even at 7 am-ish, I decided that it was just too hot, so I'm hanging at home with the fan blowing. A little later, I'll probably tune in to watch the women's finals for the US Open, and maybe do some stamping while it's on.

For now, I have a card that I made Friday evening using the Mojo Monday # 361 sketch. This little kitty is from a super cute Simon Says Stamp set.

Instead of coloring the kitty, I decided to paper piece her/him with some of the same patterned paper that the greeting is stamped on. All of the patterned papers are from the same pack, Simple Stories called "Daily Grind". The circles are Nesties and SU Starburst dies, and the wooden arrow is from SU as well.

Supplies
Stamps: You Are Pawesome set by Simon Says Stamp
Paper: SU Really Rust and Not Quite Navy card stock and Simple Stories Daily Grind patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and SU Island Indigo
Other: classic circle Nestie, SU Starburst die, SU wooden elements, metallic twine, Fiskars corner rounder punch, the Big Shot, dimensionals

Thanks, and stay cool if you're in the SoCal area!

For The Record. . .

Hi and happy weekend,

Today's card is made using the September SFYTT sketch. I haven't played along in Jen's monthly sketch challenge for quite awhile and I'm not really sure why that is.

I wanted to make a card or my nephew, who started at a new school this year, and remembered the RC "Inner Rock Star" set. Since he plays guitar, and he LOVES old R & R, this set is a perfect choice to make his card with.

The records, guitar and sentiment are embossed using clear EP with SU black craft ink. The stars are SU dies and the tags are made with SU punches, the large dot background is an SU embossing folder.

Supplies
Stamps: Inner Rock Star set by Reverse  Confetti
Paper: SU Pool Party and Basic Black card stock and SU Flashback DSP
Ink: SU craft black and Crushed Curry pad and marker
Other: SU stars die, SU tag punch, SU large dot embossing folder, SU clear embossing powder, Fiskars corner rounder punch, Pebbles yellow enamel dot, the Big Shot, dimensionals

That's all from me today. It's a hot and humid weekend here in San Diego, so I'm laying low with the fan going. Thanks for coming by,
Colleen

Have a Purrfect Day!

Hello all,

I do hope your day was "purrfect." I wasn't really ready to go back to work after the three day weekend here in the states, but alas, that's what I had to do.

A few weeks ago, I discovered the SugarSketch challenges at SugarPea Designs. The first one I entered was the SugarSketch #09 challenge, and I won the random drawing with this card. Woohoo! Thanks for drawing my entry, Wendy!

I do love the SugarPea Design stamps! They are so, so cute and great for practicing one's coloring, and for me, that's practicing with my Copics.

This past weekend, I made this card for the SugarSketch10 challenge.

This little scene really was fun to color. I keep stretching my comfort zone with the darker shades and I'm happy with how the black hair turned out, as well as the kitty's fur.

Supplies
Stamps: What's Mew set by SugarPea Designs
Paper: SU Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe card stock, XPress-It Blending card stock, SU Sweet Sorbet DSP
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Crisp Cantaloupe and Copics
Other: Fiskars corner rounder punch, SU small banner punch, paper flowers, dimensionals

Happy Harvest

Happy Labor Day to all,

I hope your holiday was fun and relaxing. We started cleaning our garage yesterday and finished it this morning. After that chore was done, I did some stamping and tennis watching. As yesterday was Sunday, I decided to make a card for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch.

Since it's Labor Day, I thought I'd do a fall card, but not Halloween, to send to my mom. While looking through my stamp sets, I found this My Favorite Things Happy Harvest set.

I made a couple of modifications to accommodate the image. I rotated the layout and used an oval instead of the circle.

She is stamped in Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics. The patterned papers are Pumpkin Patch from American Crafts. To add some texture, I used some new burlap ribbon from SU, wooden leaves from SU and the Argyle EF from SU. I love the way it turned out.

Here is the inside:

Stamps: Happy Harvest (I think) set from My Favorite Things
Paper: SU Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stock, Pumpkin Patch by American Crafts patterned papers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive pads and Copics
Other: Oval Nesties, SU Argyle embossing folder, SU burlap ribbon, SU wooden leaves, SU label punch, Pebbles enamel dots, twine, white gel pen, the Big Shot, dimensionals, small glue dots

Unfortunately, it's back to work tomorrow. I sure did enjoy the long weekend though. Have a great week and thanks for looking,

Colleen
