HB2U

Hello and happy Sunday afternoon,

Here is one more December birthday card. This birthday "boy" has his birthday on Christmas day. (boy is in quotes because my friend Martin is just north of 70 years young.) I usually do something car related because he races Porches and loves cars, but I think he's seen all of my car related stamps, so this year he gets a more traditional birthday card.

The sketch is a Freshly Made sketch from a few weeks ago and these great masculine papers are from an Amy Tangerine paper pack. Stamps are TE.

Supplies
Stamps: You Take the Cake set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Glorious Green, Night of Navy, and X-Press It Blending card stocks and Amy Tangerine patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Night of Navy and Copics
Other: classic circle Nesties, Die-namics Fishtail Flags die, orange and yellow Stickles, Expresso Dimensional Pearls, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Merry Christmas to all. I hope you get to celebrate with family and friends.

Thanks,
Colleen

Firefighter Birthday Card

Happy Wednesday afternoon,

Continuing on with my end of Dec. birthday cards today and I have a card that I made for a little guy who turns six a few days after Christmas. He loves all things rescue related. His favorite saying is "I'm going to be a firefighter/paramedic/lifeguard for the rest of my life." We just crack up. Of them all, I think firefighters are his favorite so it was a no brainer to use the uber cute PI Firefighter Boy stamp set for his card.

I wanted to put a fire truck in the background, but didn't have a stamp for that (how that is possible with all my stamps I don't know). I went on line and found this cute vintage fire truck, complete with the dog. Because it's a vintage truck, I colored it with some faded areas instead of bright and shinny red all over.

I didn't use a sketch for this card, just put it together very simply. The images are colored with Copics and the background on the fire truck is sponged with SU blue ink.

Supplies
Stamps: Pure Innocence Firefighter Boy set by My Favorite Things and Vintage Fire truck digi stamp by JW Illustrations
Paper: SU Marina Mist and Whisper White card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock and SU Parker's Patterns DSP
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Real Red and Copics
Other: SB Curved Rectangles, blue Smooch, red Stickles, Spica silver glitter pen and clear glitter pen (on the fire suit reflector stripes)

We're going to my guy's holiday party tonight. I bought a new party dress and shoes so it will be fun to get all dressed up.

Have a great evening all,
Colleen

Rock Star

Hi all,

My Christmas cards are all signed, sealed, stamped and sent. Now I'm concentrating on end of December birthdays. This card was made for a teen boy who turns 14 a few days after  Christmas. He is into all things music and also plays bass and guitar. I think he'll like this one.

The sketch is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 174. I turned it on it's side to accommodate the tall image. Other than that, I followed the sketch pretty literally. The papers are MME Lime Twist. I sponged the edges with some TH black distress ink. The center panel is dry embossed with the TE Music Impressions Plate. The guitar player and the sentiment are wet embossed.

Supplies
Stamps: You're My Hero set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Not Quite Navy, Black, and Crumb Cake card stock and My Mind's Eye Lime Twist patterned paper
Ink: SU craft black, craft Not Quite Navy and Tim Holtz Black Distress ink
Other: SU clear embossing powder, TE Music Impression Plate, Die-namics Notched Border die, metallic brads, SU corner punch, the Big Shot and dimensionals.

Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday evening all,

Later this evening I will be addressing my holiday cards. I think I have enough made. Now I have to get some birthday cards done. I have several birthdays between now and the end of the year that I need to make cards for. On that note, I've gotten the first one completed.

This beautiful stamp is from Taylored Expressions. I colored it with Copics then cut it out with the Nestie. I left the die on and sponged the white area with some SU blue ink. The bow is seam binding just looped several times and scrunched together with the SU brad. I tied a stamped, TE tiny tag around the center of the bow.

The layout is an older Sweet Sunday sketch.

Supplies
Stamps: Hydrangea Bouquet set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Perfect Plumb card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock, and ?? patterned papers. (I didn't label these papers so no idea what they are. They are from an Easter KI kit from several years ago)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black,  Copics, SU Bashful blue
Other: SU seam binding, SU brad, Queen and Co pearls, Spellbinders die, Fiskars corner rounder punch, TE Mini Tags dies, SU linen thread, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Thanks for checking in today,
Colleen

Rejoice

Happy Hump Day stampers,

Yes, I have another Christmas card. I hope you don't mind. I for one love looking at all of the Christmas cards around blogland this time of year. My card today uses Jen's Deconstructed Sketch 79 layout. Love the look of this sketch and I think it can be made to look a little different with each use. I'm saving this one to use again!

The Midnight Muse and silver colors come from a past Dynamic Duos color combination. I didn't get the chance to play along when it ran, so used it here. The patterned papers are not really Christmas papers, but work well with the image.

This is an SU only card.

Supplies
Stamps: Rejoicing With You set by Stampin' Up
Paper: SU Midnight Muse, Silver Glimmer Paper, and Very Vanilla card stock and SU DSP
Ink: SU Midnight Muse classic ink pad and marker
Other: SU 1 1/4" scalloped circle, 3/4" and 1" circle punches, SU corner rounder punch, SU Midnight Muse ribbon, SU rhinestone, sewing machine

Have a great evening and thanks for looking in,

Colleen

Snow Day

Hi fellow stampers,

I've been unable to do any blogging for a couple weeks again. Mostly because we took a trip to Portland, OR for Thanksgiving week to visit my sister's family. We had a great time!

Today I have two cards for you. The first uses Karen's SSSC 173 layout and a PI cutie. The second uses Karen's SSSC #172 layout for a birthday for a friend who loves Hawaii.

Here is the card using this weeks sketch:

The color scheme of Certainly Celery and Real Red comes the Dynamic Duos 31.

I changed the circle to an oval, used several Die-namics dies and an SU embossing folder. Her hat and coat are paper pieced. The trim on her hat and boots are filled in with a white gel pen. The rest of her is colored with Copics. The real red button sits on top of a wood veneer snowflake. The snowballs are covered with Stickles to make them icy.

Here is card number 2:

I got some cool burlap 12 x 12 papers from Paper Source a few weeks ago. I used one of them to make the four squares to go along with the Hawaiian theme for this Birthday card. The patterned paper is retired SU DSP.

Supplies
Card 1:
Stamps: Pure Innocence Snow Day by My Favorite Things
Paper: SU Certainly Celery and Real Red card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock, Merry & Bright by Carta Bella patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics, and SU Real Red
Other: Die-namics Fishtail Stax and Oval Doily dies, SU embossing folder, SU button, Studio Calico wood veneer snowflakes, Kaiser red pearls, Stickles, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Card 2:
Stamps: Tropical Party set by Stampin' Up
Paper: SU Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White card stock, burlap paper, and SU Island Oasis DSP
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU chocolate chip, SU Rose Red, and Copics
Other: sewing machine, SU rhinestones, Stickles and dimensionals

HB2U

Happy Saturday everyone,

I'm breaking away from Christmas cards today. I have a birthday card instead. Can I say, I just love the way this turned out! Love these papers too.

Not much stamping here. Just the "HB2U" on the little die cut tag tied around the corner. See the die cut heart in the blue plaid paper? So cute! I thought it added a special touch.

Supplies
Stamps: You Take The Cake set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: TE blue and SU Crumb Cake card stock and Simple Stories Harvest Lane patterned papers
Ink: SU Early Expresso classic pad
Other: TE Bake Me A Cake, Bugabee Flowers and Mini Tags dies, TE Spots Impressions Plate, SU Top Note die, TE green polka-dot ribbon, SU linen thread, teal Liquid Paper Pen, the Big Shot and dimensionals.

I hope your day is a really good one. Thanks for looking in,

Happy Christmas

Hi all,

Here's a Christmas card that went together really quickly, despite the cutting, sewing, die cutting and embossing. I really like the way it turned out too. The owl is just cut from the SU DSP. I did this a few months ago on another card and decided to do so again because I think it's a really cute image. The sketch is last week's Merry Monday sketch. (I didn't get the picture taken until after the challenge closed.)

Supplies
Stamps: More Merry Messages by Stampin' Up
Paper: SU Cherry Cobbler and Whisper white card stock and SU Snow Festive DSP
Ink: SU Cherry Cobbler
Other: SU Framelits, SU embossing folder, sewing machine, white candy dots, the Big Shot and dimensionals

Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks for looking in,

Thinking Of You Warms My Heart

Happy Monday,

I'm off to Las Vegas this morning for a week long work function. My company's North American yearly national meeting. It's exciting to get to see co-workers whom I see once each year at this meeting. That's the best part really. The week will be filled with meeting after meeting from 8 am to 6 pm each day and then scheduled dinners in the evenings. They don't allow much free time at these things, but we usually manage to find some.

I thought I'd schedule some automatic posts this week for the cards that I made over the weekend. The first is my card for the MFTWSC97.

I thought I'd be a bit different and not use the sentiment as my focal point on the banner element. Instead, I used this cute Claire Keay image.

I stamped her in Memento tuxedo black, colored her with Copics and popped her up with dimensionals on the Fishtail Flags STAX dies. I added some snowflake buttons and sewing to complete the look.

Supplies
Stamps: Heartfelt by My Favorite Things
Paper: SU Bravo Burgundy and Blushing Bride card stock, X-Press It blending card stock, and Basic Grey patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics and SU Bravo Burgundy classic ink pad
Other: Die-namics dies, snowflake buttons, pink floss, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals.

Have a great Monday and thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Holiday Wishes

Hello stampers,

I hope the weekend was a good one for you. It was for me. We had dinner with good friends last night which was super fun. Good friends, good food, good wine and good conversation. Yes, as the saying goes, "It was ALL good"!

I'm really cutting this close. I have a card using the Mojo Monday 266 layout. I made this on Wednesday but didn't get around to taking it's picture so I could blog it. This uses a new Taylored Expressions set and some really old papers, so old, I don't remember the company.

Supplies
Stamps: The Cool Crew set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: TE blue and choice buttercream card stock and ?? patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Copics
Other: Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX dies, classic circle and scalloped circle Nesties, sewing machine, Studio Calico wood snowflakes, Kaiser rhinestones, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Thank You So Much

Hi all,

I have another card that was made using the same stamp set and papers as my card in yesterday's post. The sketch is the Freshly Made Sketch #58 from a few weeks ago. I'm so bad at getting pictures taken so I can post to the challenges on time. Such a procrastinator! LOL.

As I mentioned yesterday, I love the richness of these patterned papers from Authentique.

Supplies
Stamps: Falling For You set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Early Expresso and Cherry Cobbler and TE buttercream card stocks and Thankful Collection by Authentique pattern papers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics and SU Early Expresso
Other: classic circle and eyelet circle Nesties, red burlap, Kaiser rhinestones, Fiskars Corner Rounder punch, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by,

Thankful For You

Good morning stampers,

It's Wednesday, and that means that the week is half over. Yay! Next week, I'll be in Las Vegas for my company's annual national meeting. Some years it's better than others, but usually it's very busy with hardly any free time. The best part is seeing co-workers that live in other parts of the country that you only see once a year at this meeting. The next week I'm on vacation and we'll be spending the week with my sister in Portland, OR. Really looking forward to that!

On to my card for today. This one uses Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #76. This was a really fun sketch to work with and my card came together really fast. I used new Taylored Expressions stamps and dies.

I love these fall papers from Authentique. The colors are so rich.

Supplies
Stamps: Falling For You by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU More Mustard and Early Expresso and TE buttercream card stocks and Thankful collection by Authentique pattern papers
Ink: SU Early Expresso
Other: Scalloped circle and classic circle Nesties, TE small border and Thankful For You dies, SU embossing folder, Kaiser rhinestone, the Big Shot and dimensionals

I sent this one off to my mom, just because.

Have a great day and thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Owl I Want For Christmas

Good morning all,

I hope your weekend is going well. I spent Friday evening and most of yesterday stamping trying to ramp up my  Christmas card production. I'm not sure how many I have so far. What ever the count, I'm sure it's not enough. :D

Since Karen G. posted the Sweet Sunday Sketch #171 last night fairly early on FaceBook, early by Pacific Time anyway, and I got my card made last night. Love the sketch this week with all the layers. It's my kind of sketch!

I saw this cute Lawn Fawn set at a local stamp/paper crafting store a few weeks ago and had to have it. In fact, I treated myself to a few more Lawn Fawn sets. I love the simple, bold, graphic style of their stamps. I picked up these Lawn Fawn patterned papers as well.

The owl is stamped on X-Press It Blending white card stock, and colored with Copics. I sponged around the image with some Memento Cantaloupe ink. The owl's scarf is paper pieced and shaded with a W01 Copic. The flags are made with Die-namics FishTail Flags STAX dies. I added some stitching and the rhinestones to finish it off.

Supplies
Stamps: Owl I Want For Christmas set by Lawn Fawn
Paper: Taylored Expressions blue and yellow card stock, X-Press It blending card stock and Lawn Fawn Fa La La Christmas collection paper pack
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and cantaloupe, SU Not Quite Navy and Copics E11, E13, E15, W0, W1, YR15, YR20, YR30
Other: classic circle Nesties, Die-namics FishTail Flags STAX dies, sewing machine, Kaiser rhinestones, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

I'm off to go shopping this afternoon. Work meeting all next week and I need something to wear.
Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by,

Colleen

Joy

Hi,
One more post tonight. This card uses the current Deconstructed Sketch #75. I kept this one pretty simple using the same Paper Smooches set as with the first card tonight. I love these graphic stamps.
The images are colored with Copics. The papers are all from the TE Christmas Project Pantry kit.

To add a little bling, I added a red rhinestone to each tree and red Stickles to the hearts in Joy and on the large tree.

Supplies
Stamps: Paper Smooches set
Paper: TE green, red and white card stock and Carta Bella Merry & Bright patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Copics
Other: TE ribbon, Kaiser red rhinestones, red Stickles, SU medium oval and scalloped oval punches, TE medium and small scalloped border dies

Have a good rest of the week and again, thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Peace On Earth

Happy Monday evening everyone,

I hope everyone on the East Coast is doing well and is out of harm's way tonight.

I'm squeaking in with my October SFYTT card. The layers on this sure were fun to play with. I used some "new to me" Paper Smooches stamps and Lawn Fawn patterned papers.

The snowman is stamped with Memento tuxedo black and colored with BG70 Copics. Then I smeared Crystal Stickles all over him to make him look nice and icy. I thought that the heart ornament would look kind of like the Earth colored in green and blue Copics. It's popped up on a dimensional on his little twig hand.

Supplies
Stamps: Paper Smooches
Paper: Taylored Expressions medium and light blue card stock, X-Press IT blending card stock, Lawn Fawn patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics and SU Riding Hood red
Other: Crystal and Red Stickles and dimensionals

Thanks for looking in,

Good evening all,

I had a very long work day today. I just got home in time to watch the 9th inning of game 1 of the World Series. Go Giants!

On Saturday afternoon I went to one of my local stamp stores and bought some Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn stamp sets. I have been eyeing them in blogland for several months and finally decided that I had to have some, LOL.

Supplies
Stamps: Spookalicious set by Paper Smooches
Paper: Taylored Expressions orange and black card stock, X-Press It blending card stock, Pebbles Tricks and Treats patterned paper
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Copics
Other: SU Framelits dies, SU googlie eyes, black polkadot tape, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Only two more work days this week. Can't wait for the weekend. More stamping time.

Colleen

Fluttering By With a Birthday Hi

Hi,

Here's another card that I made last weekend. This one is for a good friend's birthday. I used a new sketch challenge (to me) called CAS(E) This Sketch. The stamps are from Taylored Expressions. (Please excuse the photography. For some reason, this turned out really dark)

For the leaves, I used TE dies to cut the shapes from white paper then I sponged them with some fall colored inks. After gluing them on the card front, I added the orange/gold rhinestones. The birdhouse, bird and squirrel are colored with Copics. The background was made with the TE woodgrain Impressions Plate.
